WFMW - Coupon Organization

I recently became a Coupon Clipper, and to say I'm obsessed with this money saving hobby would be putting it lightly. In the last three weeks I've saved $118.83 by using Manufacturer's Coupons. When I combined those coupons with store coupons and sales I saved a total of $550.78. I LOVE my coupons, but keeping them in order, and finding the ones I need is a BIG job. At least it was a big job until last weekend when I came up with a new system.

I bought a bunch of baseball card protector pages(@ Walmart - 70pages/$9.97), put all my coupons in their own little pockets, and now I can see everything at a glance. I use dividers to separate each section, and can easily flip to whatever I'm looking for. It took forever to get everything in at first, but now it will be easy to add to it each week.
I keep the pages in a nice zippered binder that has a big pocket in the front where I put all of my weekly adds. In the pencil pouch I've got scissors, pens, and anything else I might need. It's nice having everything together in one place, and I can take the whole thing with me when I go shopping. But, if I want to take something smaller instead, I bring one of these..
Inside I have envelopes for each store I shop at. By planning my shopping ahead of time I am able to select the coupons I'll need, and separate them into the envelopes. I also keep any store coupons or flyers I might need in here.
So, that's it. If you're into coupons I hope this helps you. And, if you have any couponing tips or tricks I'd love to hear them.

By the way, I'm doing a giveaway this week for the Ultimate Blog Party. You can check it out here.

Looks good! That's how I keep mine too. One tip though - for those of us who are ADD and get distracted easily - I three hole punch some blank paper and put it in between the inserts. That way the qs from one page don't blend into another! Not as distracting - lol!

Great work! I have the standard little coupon organizer but sometimes those little guys get lost forever - thanks for the tip.

I've seen this way of organizing a few times now and just can't decide if it's for me. I love how organized it is, but between the time and money taking to do it...

Thanks for sharing, I may have to take a look at these items on my run to Wally-World today and decide to give it a whirl.

Great idea! I've never seen this. I have a quick question as I'm stepping up my coupon and grocery game.

Do you only put the same coupon in each little pocket or do you (for example) put all of the "bread" coupons in pocket.

Also, how many papers do you get with coupons. I've been wanting to get a 2nd, but it is almost $2 a week for just the Sunday paper delivered...that seems like a lot...so how many and how much do you pay?

Thanks so much!

Another question..do you only get "hometown" papers?

Great idea! I've been exploding out of my coupon holder for awhile now and I'm trying to think of ways to expand and still be easy to get to. Thanks for the tip!

Okay I've given in to this system and am thinking it will be well worth it once I can get through my stacks and stacks of coupons. I've spent so much time sorting and throwing out expired coupons that I'm thrilled to have gone to a binder system! Now my question for you is, what categories do you have your sections divided into?

meshellyn - let's see.. I have sections for:

Meat
Dairy/Refrideration/Produce
Freezer
Center Section - cans, boxes, jars
Sauces
Baking Items
Snack Foods
Baby/Pet Items
Paper Products
Cleaners/Detergents
Medicines
Toiletries

I think that's it. Sometimes one section blends into another, but for the most part this works for me.

Also, today I used up the last of the 70 sheets of page protectors I bought. Guess I'll have to go get more!

I've been excited to try this, but when I went to Walmart this weekend, I had no idea where to find the baseball card protectors...of course the person I asked was clueless! Where did you find yours...is it in the sporting section or upfront...thanks!

I found them up front by the registers. They had a section with all sorts of cards.. baseball, game trading cards, etc. They had boxes of these protectors on the bottom shelf. Hope this helps. If you can't find them there, they will probably have them at Hobby stores, and I'm sure ebay has some good buys on these.
